Time piece

Time piece was written for the Vocal Ensemble Markant. We did a concert about death in November called 'Nature Morte'. We were talking about ways to 'enhance' the performance a bit and someone came up with the idea to let the sound of a ticking clock hear between pieces of music. I thought it might be more interesting to make a composition out of this.

I started out with 2 'clocks', one ticking a bit faster than the other and creating a Phase shift. Then i started altering speed, pitch and volume of each tick. I made 7 pieces in total, each more altering the previous one until almost all rhythmical sound disappeared.
